BURGOS
ESPAÑALa industria maderera ocupa el primer lugar de importancia en la región, puesto que los municipios poseen el 80% del área forestal total (mediante un sistema de propiedad comunal del bosque), siendo la tala de madera una actividad tradicional desarrollada por los vecinos y vecinas de los pueblos. Varios estudios y acciones de desarrollo local han explorado el potencial de las diversas actividades vinculadas al bosque (tales como LIFE Soria ForestAdapt, ZeroFires, International Model Forest Network, etc.), y ya existen mecanismos de apoyo público e institucional que están teniendo lugar en la zona (por ejemplo, los Planes de Gestión Forestal o la reducción de las contribuciones a la seguridad social en la provincia de Soria). El turismo cultural y de naturaleza ha supuesto también un impulso valioso a la economía local. La Universidad de Burgos, la Fundación Oxígeno y la Sociedad para el Desarrollo de la Provincia de Burgos han unido fuerzas para apoyar las iniciativas ya existentes en el territorio (tales como la Casa de la madera, Cabaña Real de Carreteros, Que la Sierra Baile, la asociación TurismoUrbion o SMART VILLAGES) y continúan desarrollando nuevas iniciativas de economía social entorno a estas. Las siguientes temáticas se consideran prioritarias: Iniciativas culturales, alfabetización digital y servicios, nuevos modelos de transporte, inclusión laboral, preservación y gestión de recursos naturales y acceso a la vivienda para personas migrantes y neorrurales.
