The cooperative movement traces back to the 19th century with the founding of FTC in 1895. The region is recognized as a significant cooperative district globally. Trento’s social policies align with labor policies and involve various stakeholders, including social cooperatives, voluntary organizations, and employers’ associations. The region passed a law on community cooperatives in 2022 to combat depopulation in mountain territories and improve access to services. An institutional collaboration agreement between FTC and PAT aims to enhance the cooperative model and update regulations for labor policies. The COPE project, funded by EaSI, focuses on setting up Community Labs for social economy, targeting young NEETs for social and labor inclusion. These Labs facilitate self-employment and collaboration with local hubs and business incubators. Additionally, service cooperatives in Trentino provide tourism-related services for people with disabilities and reduced mobility to enhance inclusivity in the tourism sector. The InCooperazione welfare platform is proposed as an innovative digital tool to support vulnerable groups’ social and labor inclusion.
