THE KICK-OFF MEETING OF THE ESIRA PROJECT WAS HELD IN BURGOS

A consortium of 15 partners from 8 countries launched the ESIRA Project with the main goal of improving the socio-economic position of the population in rural areas!

Partners attended the Kick-off meeting held on January 17th and 18th in Burgos, Spain. The meeting was organized by the coordinator of the ESIRA Project, the Universidad de Burgos – UBU.

The ESIRA consortium was brought together with a shared vision for the development of local rural communities and the improvement of the economic position of marginalized groups.

The focus of the meeting was on presentations of work packages and presentations of pilot areas where ESIRA will be implemented. Additionally, important activities and plans for the fundamental implementation of the project were discussed. During the meeting, it was discussed that rural areas face a myriad of challenges. The most important among these are economic hardships, demographic transformations, technological discrepancies, policy constraints, and the pressing need to transition towards more environmentally sustainable and digitally integrated spaces.

The consortium will implement the ESIRA project by mapping marginalized groups in rural areas and devising innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening their economic and social status.
